Copy missing columns, labels, groups and views between monday.com boards.

Why

Keeping many boards consistent by hand is slow and error-prone. When your template board gets a new column, a new status label or a new group, every board built from it has to be updated one by one. Board Structure Sync is a board view that does this for you: pick a source board, review a preview of what is missing on the current board, and add it in one click.

What it adds to the current board: - Columns that exist on the source board but are missing here - Status labels that are missing from matching status columns - Groups that are missing - Supported views: Table, Form, Dashboard and App views

Safe by design: - You always see a preview before anything changes - Additive only: it never deletes or renames columns, labels, groups, views or items on the current board - It reads board structure only, not your item data - It runs entirely inside monday.com in your browser. There is no backend server, and no board data is stored by the developer or sent to any third-party server

Good to know: automations cannot be copied, because monday.com does not offer an API for them. Other view types, such as Kanban or Gantt, cannot be created through the API, so they are listed in the preview as not supported.

Typical uses: rolling a template update out to existing project boards, aligning status labels across team boards, and setting up a new board to match a reference board.

How it works

Add the Board Structure Sync view to the board you want to update.
Select the source board.
Review the preview of the columns, labels, groups and views that are missing.
Click Apply to add them. Items that are not supported are shown in the preview and skipped.

FAQ

Does it delete or rename anything? No. It only adds things that are missing.

Can it copy automations? No. monday.com does not provide an API to create or copy automations, so you need to recreate them manually.

Which views are supported? Table, Form, Dashboard and App views. Kanban, Gantt, Timeline, Calendar and other view types cannot be created through the API.

Does it copy items or item data? No. It reads and writes board structure only.

Where is my data processed? Everything runs in your browser inside monday.com, using monday's built-in authentication. There is no developer server, and nothing is stored or sent to third parties.

What permissions do I need? You need edit rights on the current board and read access to the source board. Viewers cannot make changes.

Does it keep boards in sync automatically? No. Each sync is a manual action that you trigger and review.

Does it change existing columns or labels? No. Existing columns, labels, groups and views are left unchanged, even if they differ from the source.
